Waves Swim Club successfully completed their sixth summer swim season. Over 90 athletes competed in 5 meets competing against Houston, Mountain View, Willow Springs, Seymour, Marshfield, and Rolla. Head Coach Kristi Sheridan commented, “It was very exciting to see our numbers of young swimmers grow this season. Many of these young, talented athletes have signed up for our fall USA swim season. The Waves is a feeder system for the high school swim team and it is exciting to see our athletes reach their goals in high school and at the state level. We also had the largest number of swimmers qualify for the Long Course Ozarks LSC Championships in Edwardsville Illinois July 25-27, 2019. These athletes include: Nate Bramwell, Brylee Barnes, Olivia Fiorino Audrey Land, Abbie Peugh, Addie Peugh, Dakota Sparks, Paige Sheridan, Emma Tugwell, Austin Young, and Autumn Young.”

Overall high-point earners for the summer season were: 6 & under, Joel Walker and Kate Tugwell; 7-8 years, Isaac Miller and Macy Wickins; 9-10 years, Josiah Spurling and Gwen Fiorino; 11-12 years, Avery Miller and Addison Peugh; 13-14 years, Audrey Land and Elias Curtis; 15 & over, Jake Bramwell and Olivia Fiorino.

Waves Swim Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit year-round competitive swim team that is grounded in two principles: character development and swimming improvement. We want to foster an atmosphere of commitment and consistency focused on the long run; where swimming becomes a lifetime sport. We love for kids to win races and make time qualifications for larger meets; however, an emphasis is put on best times, technical development and personal improvement. Kristi Sheridan stated that “the Waves Swim Club is passionate about teaching our area youth how to swim.”
